Chad Andrew “Drew” Gredig, born April 19, 1993, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, December 6th, 2019 in Orange County, CA. He was a 2011 graduate of Carter High School. Drew had a passion for helping others. He worked as a substance abuse counselor where he enjoyed working with others to overcome obstacles in their life. Drew had a great personality and never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone he met. He was a strong man with a sweet soul. He loved his family with all his heart. Drew had a way of making everyone he interacted with feel special. He always made time to listen and provide words of encouragement and guidance. He was a sincere, charismatic, caring, funny, and humble young man. He loved the mountains of East Tennessee and was a diehard Vol fan. He also was drawn to the sun, sand, and surf of Southern California. Drew will be missed but his memory will live on forever in the many lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his loving grandfathers, William Blakely and Jackie Gredig, uncle, Ronnie McKinney, and close friends, Brent Byrum and John Benton Huddleston. He is survived by his mother, Tammy Gredig (Chris Johnson), father, Chad Gredig and wife Brandi, sisters, Haley Gredig and Amber Watson, brother, Elijah Gredig, and nephews, A.J. Rowlett and John Ronan Ruyle, the light of his life, two amazing grandmothers, Brenda Blakely and Patricia McCarty (David Foust), aunts, Denise Miller (Jerry), Robin McKinney, and Pamela Sammons (Kevin), and uncles, Richard Thomas (Melissa) and Shawn Whitt (Alyson), cousins (who were more like siblings), Blake McKinney (Becca), Nathan McKinney (Kaylyn), Hayden McKinney, BreAnna Miller (Clint Farley), Trace Miller, Jackson Miller, Nicole Sammons, and Becca Thomas Crenshaw, special friends Rick Hughes, Michael Diaz, Ben Howard, Chase Burns, Travis Bakely, Drew Nicely, Cody Hall, Andrew Lucas, Jamie Rodgers, Joey Janeway, Mikey Carmon and so many others. Drew’s family would like to give special thanks to all for the outpouring of love and support. The family will receive friends 5PM to 7PM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with services to follow at 7PM with Rev. Scott Adams officiating. Inurnment will take place in Caledonia Cemetery at later date.
