Celia Wolfenbarger Hopper (November 30, 1940 – January 28, 2016) took her place at the feet of Jesus on Thursday afternoon. She joins her parents Greer and Beatrice Wolfenbarger and her sister Jesse Jones in the Throne room. She patiently awaits the arrival of her husband of 55 years, Nolan; her sons Donald (Teresa) and Ronald (Elizabeth); her granddaughters Ashley Hill (Justin), Shelby Titlow (Mykal), Jamie Click, Amber Click and great-granddaughter Reagan Hill; brother Gene (Ginger); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and more friends than one could imagine. What do you say about a woman like Celia Hopper? Celia was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a middle sister; you know, the one who couldn't get away with anything. She was the aunt that was everyone's favorite. She was your best friend, your rock, your shoulder when you needed one. But most importantly, Celia was a Christian. Celia never met a stranger and you were always welcome at her dinner table. She treated everyone like family and expected you to call her Aunt C, Duck, or Granny. Her hair and make up were always done. Her door was always open. Her fried chicken was the best in town. She could always whoop you in leg wrestling and was willing to prove it any opportunity she had. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Callahan Road Baptist Church from 6 to 8 pm, services to follow, Marc Sasser and Gene Wolfenbarger officiating. The family will meet at Acuff Cemetery in Washburn at 11 am Tuesday for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Acuff Cemetery account at the Citizens Bank in Washburn. Arrangements by Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City.
