Cecil Imogene “Jean” Simmons age 88 of Corryton, departed this life on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was a life long member of Little Flat Creek Baptist Church. She retired from Gibbs High School Cafeteria after 20 plus years of service. Preceded in death by death parents Estle and Sallie (Tabler) Lakin, husband; Raymond Simmons and son; Dale Simmons. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Rev. Herman and Mary Lakin, Clarence and Betty Lakin, Brother-in-law; Alfred James and sister; Claudine “Polly” Lakin. Survivors; sisters, Wanda James and Elizabeth Lakin. Son and daughter-in-law; Barry and Connie Simmons. Daughter-in-law; Becky Simmons. Grandchildren; Blake Simmons (Brianna), Alana Simmons, Alexander Simmons (Laura), and John Simmons (Nikki). Great-grandchildren; Emma, Jedidiah, Sophie, John Carson, Benjamin, McKenna, and Abigail. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Special thanks to Dr. Suresh Kumar, his office staff and the staff of Tennova Hospice. Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021 at Little Flat Creek Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service Rev. Barry Simmons officiating.
