CAROLYN (SHIPE) FARMER – age 76 of Knoxville, died 9:17 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Beverly Park Place with her family by her side. Active member of Union Baptist Church, she taught Young Married Sunday School Class and was part of Super Citizens, Sign Language Ministry, and Vacation Bible School. She was the manager of Union Cemetery for many years. She worked in the Gibbs High School cafeteria for several years. Preceded in death by parents, Eugene and Dorothy Shipe; husband of 53 years, James Clayton Farmer. One of her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law Lynne and Robert Sexton, Lisa and Thane Daniels; son and fiancé Stephen Farmer and Patti Tipton; grandchildren Bettina and John Pontiff, Stephen Beeler, Ethan Daniels, Miranda Beeler, Michelle Beeler, Kaitlynne Beeler, Hayden Farmer; great-grandchildren Laci Beeler and Barton Pontiff; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Jim Fox; brother and sister-in-law Emerson and Pam Shipe; several nieces, nephews, and caring neighbors. The family would like to express their thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Beverly Park Place for their love and care. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev.
