Carolyn Hood Triplett, age 83, a lifetime resident of Knoxville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Halls. Carolyn attended Rule and Knoxville High Schools. She received degrees in both social work and education from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. She worked in child services for Knox County before beginning a 31 year teaching career, predominantly at Springhill Elementary, Bearden Jr. High, and Central High Schools. Her many loved students called her “Mama T.” Carolyn was proceeded in death by parents Charles and Agnes Hood, sister Betty Hood Minnich, and brother James A. Hood. She is survived by her husband, of 44 years, Oakie R. Triplett, daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Michael Shipley of Knoxville, Roberta and Robert Wippich of Durham, NC, and Kathy and Allen Thiel of Laguna Niguel, CA; grandchildren Patrick and Stephanie Huskey, Wesley “Bubba” Huskey, Rachel Shipley, Melaney, Cyndi, and Alley Thiel; great grandchildren Sydney and Norah Huskey. The family wishes to extend special thanks to church members and our special friends who were such a help and comfort through this time. “The King will say, Come you who are blessed by my Father, enter the Kingdom…for you visited me when I was sick” (Matthew 25). “Life is precious” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Highway, Knoxville, TN 37938, where a memorial service will be held 7 pmThursday, May 28th with Rev.
