Carolyn Thomas Edington, 72, went to be with our Lord and Savior after a difficult battle with cancer on March 6, 2022. Lovingly called "Granmaw" by many, she was known as generous, kind, compassionate, forgiving, and encouraging. She rarely met a stranger and was always willing to talk to everyone about Jesus. During her career as a senior bookkeeper in UT's Dean of Student's office, she was also known as Mother E because she was so revered by students and colleagues alike.
Awaiting her in heaven are her father Robert (Bob) Thomas and sister, Diana Dunn. Continuing in the Lord's work, with plans to meet her later, are mother Ruth Thomas, sister Janice (Larry) King, brother Robert Daniel (Bonita) Thomas, and Brother-in-law Sam Dunn, as well as her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Randy Cope and Jeanna and Todd Reynolds, grandchildren James Andrew (Rachael) Cope, Kristopher (Brenna) Cope, Miranda (Oliver) Mader, Matthew (Tricia) Reynolds, and Sydney Cope (fiance Brennen Davis), great-grandchildren are Jaxson Cope and Aria Cope.
On behalf of Carolyn, the family would like to thank UT Cancer Specialists and Hospice for their kindness and care for her in the past year and 1/2, with special appreciation to Ashley Dunn.
Service arrangements are as follows. Mynatt's Chapel in Halls will host a Call of Convenience on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 10:00am until 6:00pm.
