Carolyn Elaine (Sharp) Shoffner, Age 67, of Knoxville went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 5, 2021 after a long battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was born July 7,1954 to her parents James "Jack"' and Hazel Sharp. She was preceded in death by her parents James "Jack" and Hazel Sharp.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law - Chris and Claudette Shoffner, Daniel Dilbeck -grandson and Skylar Dilbeck - great granddaughter, Dimple Thompson - Aunt and Sandra Dickens - sister and companion for life. She was blessed with an extended family-Jeff Taylor (whom she loved as her son) and his family Maggie and Emma Bailey, Brandon Taylor, Breanna Henegar and family. She loved all her family and friends. She was a born again believer in Christ and enjoyed many hours of bible reading and studies. She was retired from the Knoxville Police Department. She loved baseball especially the Yankees and loved collecting statues of Eagles. A call of convenience will be held from 9 AM - 3 PM Saturday, October 9,2021 if you want to just drop in to pay respects and sign the book. Receiving of Friends will be 3 PM -5 PM on Saturday, October 9,2021 at Mynatt Funeral Home (Halls), 4131 E. Emory Road, Knoxville, TN 37938.
Family and friends will meet at 1:45pm Sunday, October 10,2021, for a graveside service at 2 PM at Greasy Hollow Cemetery in Speedwell, TN. In lieu of flowers, if you want to make a donation in Carolyn's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or donation to the funeral expenses thru Mynatt Funeral Home. The family wants to express in advance their love and thankfulness for everything during this difficult time.
