It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline (Tindell) Lawson on January 20, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was known to many as Nana. Caroline was born on July 9, 1947, and lived a full and meaningful life.
She was a loving Nana, who devoted her life to her family. She was known for her kind heart and unwavering spirit, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, canning and sewing. She always took care of others, and her delicious meals and quick wit brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Caroline is preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Merritt Prince and grandparents Lydia and Verlin Merritt. She leaves behind her husband of 43 years Gary Lawson; daughters Laura Nave (Joe) Croft and Amy Nave (Jon) Ferguson; grandchildren Nathan (Rebecca) Croft, Ethan Ferguson, Eli Ferguson, and Emma Ferguson; great grandson Thomas Croft; and siblings Jim Tindell and Gail (Bill) Gallaher. Niece Erin (AJ) Howland. She was looking forward to the arrival of a second great-grandson in May.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time and their appreciation to UT Hospice for the loving care during Caroline's final days. We will always miss our “Sweet Caroline”.
Graveside services will take place 11:00 am Monday, January 23, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 am at Mynatt Fountain City for the procession to the cemetery.
