Carol Jean Hackworth

Carol J. Hackworth, 72 of Knoxville went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Carol enjoyed giving to others, it brought such joy to her life and a smile to her face. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marie Locher Winstead; a brother Butch Winstead; sister, Pat Winstead; special granddaughter, Kelly Strong Lumpkins; and her beloved pet Costco. Carol is survived by her husband, Jim Hackworth; son, Joey; brothers, Lawrence, Johnny and Jimmy Winstead; step sons, Jerry Stiles, Jimmy and Patrick Hackworth. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and special friend Johnnie Reed. Special thanks to Fort Sanders Hospital, Amedysis Hospice and Patricia Neal Rehab Center. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29, 7pm at Mynatt Funeral Home in Halls 4131 E. Emory Road, (865) 922-9195. The Rev. Daniel Wood will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Mynatt’s Halls Chapel from 5-7pm. Family and friends will meet on Sunday at 1:45pm in Asbury Cemetery for a 2pm interment.
