Carol Chappell, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Sunday January 7th, 2018 at Physician’s Regional Medical Center. She was a long time devoted member of Old Beverly Baptist Church. Originally from Hoxie, Arkansas, Carol moved to the Knoxville area after high school during WWII and did work involved with the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge. Carol was a loving wife and mother and is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ules L.V. Chappell. Carol is survived by her 3 children, James A. Chappell (Vickie), Cheryl L. “Punkin” Weaver (Jim), and Joseph L. Chappell (Michelle). She is also survived by her sister, Syble Butts, Nephew Terry Chappell, Grandchildren James “Junior” Chappell (Kimberly), Michelle Jackson (David), John Gregory Chappell, Errin Chappell, Matthew Weaver (Jessica), Cyndi Peacock (Michael), and Laura Kron (Stephen). Great Grandchildren include James Lee Chappell, Michael Chappell, Jennifer Chappell, Reece Peacock, Tyson Peacock, Chase Weaver, Journey Bolter, Olivia Weaver, and Hannah Jackson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel.
