Carnell Franklin Wilson

October 22, 1934 — August 25, 2013

Carnell F. Wilson – age 78 of Maryville, formerly of Maynardville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2013. He was surrounded by family when he passed from this life into his heavenly home. He was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. Everyone loved “PeeWee” as he was known affectionately by close friends and family. He will be sadly missed as a wonderful and loving husband, father and brother. He retired from Lays Packing Company after 30 plus years of dedicated service. He was the eldest child of ten siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Reva Wilson, sister; Marcella Spurgeon, and special Uncle and Aunt; Bill and Nell Parker, nieces; Susan Onks, Michelle Hamilton, and nephew; Billy Spurgeon, sister-in-law; Martha Reed, Christine Jones, and brother-in-law ; Horace Jones. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Lula Wilson, son; Brian Wilson and T.J. Wilson, daughter; Denise Cox, grandson; Brandon Cox. Carnell leaves behind several brothers and sisters. Brothers; Wayne and Audrey Wilson, Jim and Diana Wilson, David and Lou Wilson, sisters; Sally and Ray Davis, Mary Nell and Gene Onks, Linda and Clark Hamilton, Brenda Reynolds and the late Freddie Reynolds, Katy and Dewey Wade and many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betty Tindell. Special thanks goes to the UT Hospice for all the care and devotion they bestowed on the family and Carnell and to Immanuel Baptist Church members and Reverend Nathan Housley for the food and prayers which gave strength, comfort, and encouragement in our time of need. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 11am, Reverend Nathan Housley officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the family. Family will receive friends 6-8pm Tuesday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
