Carla Marie Pate Boruff, age 79, of Corryton, Tennessee went to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 21, 2024, surrounded by her family after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and other health issues. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Corryton. Marie was the middle of five girls born to Carl and Birdie Pate. Marie and her sisters had a very strong family bond, and they were best friends. Her family moved to Corryton from Knoxville when Marie was in eighth grade. In addition, she was an active member of Corryton Order of the Eastern Star #337 for many years, serving in many leadership roles. She was someone that could always be relied upon by her family and friends and was an example for all of us. Marie had a strong work ethic, which she passed along to her children. She was very proud of their accomplishments, along with those of her granddaughter, Ashley. She cherished her family and loved them immeasurably. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Birdie Pate, sister Sandy McBee, and in-laws Jackson and Minnie Boruff. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Marvin Boruff of Corryton, daughter Kristi Boruff of Knoxville, son and daughter in law, Tim and Candy Boruff of Corryton, and her beloved granddaughter Ashley Boruff of Corryton, along with her fiancé Jonathan Pursiful of Corryton.
