Carl E. Jones

Carl E. Jones, age 83 of Powell, released of earthly constraint, walked with his Lord and Savior to his heavenly home on October 20, 2017. He was a member of First Baptist Powell.  Carl was retired from Powell Telephone Company and was a local home builder. He was a devoted husband, father, grand and great-grandfather. Carl loved the outdoors as well as tinkering and working with his hands and enjoyed hunting, fishing, beekeeping and reading. Preceded in death by his parents, Ulys and Dorothy Jones. Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 62 years Peggy Jones; children Linda (David) Smith and Doug (Lauri) Jones; granddaughters Lindsay (Noah) Case, Ashley (Justin) Judd, Torrie Jones, Cameron (Brandon) Vannoy and Lexi Jones; great grandchildren Eden, Deacon and Canon Case; brothers Bob (Martha) Jones and Cline (Bobbie) Jones; sister Carol Brown; and many special friends too numerous to mention. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to  First Baptist Church of Powell-Christians in Action. Family and friends will meet 10:45AM Wednesday at Ft. Sumter Community Cemetery for 11AM interment. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Tuesday Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Pastor Phil Jones officiating.
