Carl E. Curtis, age 78, passed away January 14, 2015 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He especially loved his three great-grandchildren. He was a graduate of Central High School, a licensed surveyor, and owner of Curtis Construction Company. He was a member of Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell for 67 years. He was a member of City Wide Sertoma, Road Builders Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, and Tennessee Land Surveyors Association. Carl was known by his friends and family as a man of integrity, generosity, and unconditional love. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Mary Jane Curtis; brother, James Curtis; and nephew, Mark Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Emma Lynn Carpenter Curtis; son, Don Curtis of Chattanooga, son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Tammy Curtis of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jason Curtis, Allison Curtis Snoderly, Jake Curtis; Great grandchildren, Rylei Curtis, and her mother Amanda Isbell, twins, Colton and Logan Snoderly and sister Skylar Jackson; nephews, Steve Curtis and Chris Curtis, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral service 7:00 pm Saturday at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Powell with Dr. Thomas Sweet officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:15 pm Sunday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for 1:30 pm interment. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Saturday at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
