Buddy Ray Wilkerson

Buddy Ray Wilkerson, 77, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Buddy’s strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, and friends made him the man we will always remember and cherish. Buddy was a member of Dante Church of God in Knoxville, TN. Buddy was born on November 12, 1939 to the late Curtis and Bertie Wilkerson. Throughout his life, Buddy maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by his witness of constant nurturing love and faith. His signature gift of joy, shown through his constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten. Married for over 28 years, Buddy & Emma Baker Wilkerson possessed a true servant’s heart. They both faithfully cared for family and friends and showed their faith and heart for the love of the Lord. A special thanks to Pastor David Snyder & Sister Brenda and the Dante Church of God family for their on-going support and prayers through his sickness. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack and David Wilkerson. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Emma Baker Wilkerson; children, Charlene (Tim) Weaver, Gary (Lori Smith) Wilkerson; grandchildren, Shane Weaver, Jonathan (Marie) Weaver, Nathan Weaver; brother, Bob Wilkerson, sister, Christine Moneymaker; in-laws, David (Effie) Potter, Billy (Nancy) Baker; Nancy Foster; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 10:45AM Thursday at Bells Campground Cemetery, 7905 Bell Campground Rd, Powell, TN 37849, for 11AM interment service. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Weaver, Jonathan Weaver, Nathan Weaver, Tim Weaver, Tim Potter, Mark Flatford and Adam Jennings. Family will receive friends 6-8PM Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with funeral service to follow, Pastor David Snyder and Rev. Robert Holmes officiating.
