Brandon Scott Sheckels, born on January 14, 1987, in Knoxville, TN, left this world on August 2, 2022, in the same city he called home. Brandon's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, compassion, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
A graduate of Central High School, Brandon was employed at Zaxby's Restaurant, where his warm smile and friendly demeanor brightened the days of many customers and co-workers. But Brandon's true legacy lies in the way he embraced life and the people around him.
Preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Jill Smiddy, and grandmother, Carolyn Eva Smiddy.
Brandon's genuine nature and caring spirit were evident in the deep connections he formed with his family and friends. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. In his journey through life, Brandon shared special bonds with his relatives and friends, including , his brother Eddie Sheckels, nephew Gevin Sheckels, Aunts Pam (Tom) Scott, Stacy (Ricky) Cheek, and Uncle Bo Smiddy, Cousins Stephanie (Diego) Tomas, Nikki (Jerome) Scott, Justin (Angel) Tallent, Leigh Ann Brooks, Kori Pickle, Brian Taylor, Special cousin Eva Tomas and close friends, Aaron Saunders, Ben Saunders, Cynthia Ray, Lacy Rodriuez, Kayla Smart, Tara Johnson, Jessica Lay, Jeremy Riddley, Michael Tallent, Chris Tallent, Judy Tallent-Newlin, and many more. Brandon's presence radiated love, and he never hesitated to offer his support and companionship to those in need.
Brandon's love extended beyond people to include all animals, with a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Zelda. He found solace and joy in their companionship, a testament to his compassionate soul and nurturing spirit.
On January 25, 2024, Brandon's remains were discovered near his home, bringing a bittersweet closure to his family and friends. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Brandon's passion for music and poetry reflected his deep sensitivity and creative soul. He found beauty in the world around him and expressed it through his art, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and admiration.
Brandon's absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we gather to celebrate Brandon's life at Mynatt Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, let us honor his memory by emulating his unwavering compassion and generosity. A graveside service will be at 1 pm, March 7, 2024, at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Adair Drive.
