Bradley Scott Thompson, age 46 of Powell passed away at the University of Tennessee Medical Center on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. Brad was a graduate of Halls High School in the class of 1988. He was a retired truck driver and currently a stay-at-home dad. Brad enjoyed mechanical work and spending time on Norris Lake. He is preceded in death by father, James Bruce Thompson; grandparents, Bud and Margaret Carroll and John D. and Etta Thompson. He is survived by wife, Kimberly Vinyard Thompson and daughter, Sadie Thompson of Powell; mother, Norma Carroll Thompson of Powell; brother, Johnny and wife, Reeca Thompson of Corryton; sister, Susan and husband, Richard McLendon of Farnham, Virginia; parents-in-law, Joyce Rosenbalm and Larry Vinyard of Powell; sisters-in-law, Laura Lindsey of Knoxville, Amanda Vinyard of Powell; nieces and nephews, Derek (and wife Erin) Wyrick of Okinawa, Japan; Trent McLendon of Clio, Alabama, Braxton McLendon of Clio, Alabama; Marissa Lindsey of Knoxville; Jonathan Lindsey of Powell; and Sam Vinyard of Powell, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, please spend time doing something fun with your loved ones. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00 pm.
