Bobby Joe Grindstaff

Bobby J. Grindstaff, 79 passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023, after a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Born in Hayesville, NC, he was the son of the late Guy E. and Bonnie Grindstaff. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Sue H. Grindstaff, son David, daughter Tracy and grandson Cameron. Bob was a US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. After serving his country he enjoyed 22 years at the University of Tennessee in the Food Science and Technology Department, and then finished his career with Rochester Midland Corporation. Bob was an avid hunter, gardener, fisherman and cook. Receiving of friends will begin at 3pm on December 27, 2023 at Mynatt- Powell Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 4pm, officiated by Reverend Mike Patty and Reverend Marc Sasser. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Callahan Road Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
