Billy Ray Hodges, age 67, of Powell, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for The University of Tennessee for 34 years and retired as a computer systems manager for The College of Law and Law Library. He was a faithful member and deacon of Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Granville and Geneva Hodges; father-in-law, Wade Sherritze. Survivors include: loving wife of 35 years, Vicky Hodges; children, Chris (Renea) Hodges of Dunnellon, FL, Amanda (Mark) Hodges Greenwood of Chesapeake, VA, and Katie (Troy) Hodges Wheeler of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jackson and Grayson Greenwood, Connor and Cooper Wheeler, and Tiffany, Dalton, and Dylan Hodges; brothers and sister, Charlie Wayne Hodges of Tucson, AZ, Steve Hodges of Talbot, TN, and Ruthie Breeding of Tazewell; mother-in-law, Finna Sherritze of Knoxville, TN. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm with funeral service to follow at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Elders Eugene Wilder and Jack Ritter officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:00am, Wednesday, and proceed to Phillip Keck Cemetery for an interment service conducted by Elder Ronald Lawrence with full Military Honors at 11:00am.
