Billy L. Maples

Billy L. Maples, age 84 of Knoxville, passed away December 4, 2021. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Bill retired from the US Postal Service after 47 years. He was an avid UT sports fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and papaw. Preceded in death by parents Pearl and Otis Maples, sons Bryan and Chris Maples, and infant son. Survived by loving wife of 62 years Joyce Maples, daughter Angela Lister, grandchildren Megan Walker and Nathan Lister, brother George Maples, several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow, Rev. Toby Everett and Rev. Allen James officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45pm Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery for a 2:00pm interment.
