Billy Gene Gordon, age 62, of Knoxville, TN. Born: April 16, 1961 El Paso, Texas Died: July 16, 2023, Knoxville, Tennessee. Billy was a Christian, a talented artist, and a war veteran, who loved his family and was always making everyone laugh. His signature Popeye the Sailor Man laugh will always be remembered. He was an honorable son, who made his mama proud, a fun-loving brother, a noble husband, loving father, uncle, and grandfather. His 8 grandchildren were his pride and joy, along with his children, several nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed playing games live with his brothers, fishing, and golfing with his friends, especially his buddy Ron. He retired as a Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army with 20 years active-duty service, which included war time service during Desert Storm with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Billy also retired from Lockheed Martin as an Instructor on the Close Combat Tactical Trainer for over 18 years. Billy was a Graduate of American Military University with a B.S. in management. In addition, Billy studied Media Art & Animation with the Art institute of Pittsburgh. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Gordon of Atwood, TN. He is survived by his wife Francesca (Trapanni) Gordon, His mother, Esther Blythe of Lillian, AL, children Billie Jo Gordon, Lynnette Marie Pettiford (Deon), and Chad Allen Gordon, all of Marion, IN, grandchildren Austin Sheward, Kyle Sheward, Andrew Gordon, Cohen Gordon, Alanna Gordon, Elion Gordon, Asher Gordon and Kysin Robison, all of Marion IN, siblings Hershel Wade Gordon (Tonja) of Marion IN, James Gordon, Mary Courtney (Rick), and Fred Horine all of Lillian, AL, and Teisha Ledbetter (Mark) of Trenton, Mo, several nieces and nephews that adored him. The family wishes to give special acknowledgements to Ron Webb, his best friend, of Loudon, TN and to Jessie, a special kid, who had his heart, that he mentored and loved dearly, of Knoxville, TN. Family will receive friends 11:00 am-1:00 pm Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with military honors to follow at 1:00 pm.
