Billy Dean Evans

Billy Dean Evans age 89 of Corryton passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was a graduate of Sunbright High School and the University of Tennessee as a civil engineer.  In 1954, Billy married Vera Beasley and they had 2 children; Sandra Weiten and Allen Evans.  He retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a civil engineer after 30 years.  He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.  Active member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and active in the Eric Cottrell’s Adult Connection Group.  Member of the Gibbs Ruritan Club.  Preceded in death by parents: Georgia Grace and George Evans, Brother; Pete Evans, daughter-in-law; Cathy Evans and his beloved wife; Vera Fern Evans.  Survivors: Son, Allen Evans of Jonesboro, Tn. daughter; Sandra Weiten (Bob) of Estill Springs, Tn., grandchildren, Elizabeth Dulaney (Alex) of Tilford, Tn., Melissa Warren (Andy) of Estill Springs, Tn., Nick Weiten (Nicole) of Murfreesboro, Tn., David Evans (Hillary Martin) of Knoxville, Tn.; great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brooklyn and Madelyn Dulaney, Edan and Briella Weiten, and Laney Warren.  Sister; Anna Ruth Davidson of South Carolina.  Several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service, Dr. Jeff LaBorg officiating.  Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery of an 11:00 a.m. graveside service Rev.
