Billy Ray Barr

On January 29, 2024, Billy Ray Barr, Jr. of Knoxville, experienced his first glance of Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Billy thoroughly enjoyed living life to its fullest. He enjoyed sports and spending time outdoors. His biggest pride was his family. He didn’t have one favorite hobby; but had many in the individual ways he chose to spend time with his loved ones. Billy had a magnificent smile, generous personality and a love that was evident to anyone he encountered. He will be remembered as a person of great integrity, who worked hard and loved even harder. He would want to be honored by each of his loved ones reminiscing on the good times, the laughter and fellowship with one another. 

Billy was of Baptist faith. He was employed for the last 12 years by Keurig Dr. Pepper where he had many special coworkers and friends. 

Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents Ralph and Ina Lane, Hubert and Stella Barr. 

Billy is survived by wife Amanda “Mandy” Barr; Children: Keaton Barr, Isabelle Barr, Emma Smith and Hayden Smith; Mother: Barbara Hamlet; Brother: Richard Barr; Nephew: Richard Barr Jr. He is also loved and remembered by many extended family members including Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Nephews and great friends that were considered family. 

The family would like to thank Tennova Hospice for the care shown to Billy and the compassion extended to the family in his final days. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel immediately followed by a memorial service officiated by Rev. Wesley Widby.
