Beverly Anne (Hackett) Farrell age 76 of West Knoxville, passed away Monday March 24, 2025 and is now with her Heavenly Father. She grew up in Moberly, MO and moved to Kingston, TN where she belonged to Morrison Hill Christian Church, Kingston TN. Beverly was a systems engineer with IBM for ten years and continued as a network systems manager, with state and government accounts during her 28-year career with IBM. Beverly then joined her husband, Rusty, as a licensed insurance agent and an investment advisor until her stroke in 2024. In her spare time, she was a seamstress, did cross stitching and embroidery. Along with her husband, they were avid UT Lady Vol Volleyball supporters where they created a player scholarship. Her dad, John Hackett, was a long-time trustee of Johnson University (Johnson Bible College) and in honor of her parents, Beverly supported a room and board scholarship with Johnson University. She was an avid supporter of St. Jude Hospital and UT Speech and Audiology Department. Preceded in death by parents, Sarah Louise McCorkle and John Benson Hackett. Survivors husband of 45 years, James “Rusty” Farrell; son Stephen Benson “Ben” Farrell (who she raised as a single mother for several years before marrying Rusty) and his wife Barbara; sisters Benita (Mark) Albert and Bonnie (Larry) Fagan; brother William (Sandy) Hackett; sister-in-law Laurie (Dave) Petty; seven nieces and one nephew; special friends Diana Hodges, Sarah Makin, Pat Adams, Becky Massey and Cathy Turner. The family would like to thank nurse Jack Carter, UT Speech therapist Angie Orr and Dr. Adam Battles for the care that they provided to Beverly during the last 14 months. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Foutain City Chapel followed by a 6:00 PM Celebration of Life service, Rev. Don Petty officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Highland Memorial Cemetery (Sutherland Ave.) for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
