Beula Yates Minga, age 93, born July 13, 1923 in Pardee, VA, passed away peacefully September 5, 2016 at Westmoreland Health and Rehab with her loving family by her side. She was married to the late Alva Yates for 35 years and the late Burton Minga for 12 years. Beula was a faithful member, for many years, of Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church and loved her church family. Her pleasure in life was cooking for her large standing room only family. She loved crocheting and making gifts for her family and friends. She was known for her sweet warm smile and quite peaceful personality. A special person that will be missed by all that was blessed enough to call her mom, mamaw and friend. Preceded in death by Alva and Burton; parents, Carrie and Caleb Church; a brother and 3 sisters. Survived by sons, Darrell Yates and late wife Rossana, Roger Yates and wife Judy; daughters, Nina Randles and husband Roy, Thelma Thomas and husband Jimmy Roy, Darlene Wells and husband Randy; step-daughter, Glenda Berkley and husband Roy; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brother, Arlie “Bud” Church and wife, June; and several special nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and CNA’s at Westmorland for their excellent care during her battle with Alzheimers – God bless you for your care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel 10:30AM Thursday and proceed to Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Maynardville for 11AM interment service. Family will receive friends 6-7:30PM Wednesday at Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church, 5529 N. Broadway, with funeral service to follow, Elder Eugene Wilder officiating.
