Betty Ruth Newman

Betty Ruth Newman, Mom, Aunt Betty, Mamaw, Sister Newman, born December 4, 1927 in Knoxville TN, passed away November 4, 2022, to lie with Jesus. She had three jobs in her life, the Standard Knitting Mill, Mom, and the Door Greeter at church. Betty Loved the Lord Jesus Christ and going to church. I believe she is happy now and where she has always wanted to lie… IN HIS PRESENCE. She is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Lydia and Verlin Merritt; all of her brothers and sisters, Irene, Bud, T.H., Robert, Vivian, Louise and Eugene; Her loving husband R.J.; and her son Wayne Newman. She is survived by her son Jason (Debra); four grandchildren, Robert “Bosco”, Ron “Jon”, Becky and Danielle; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm, Rev. David Silberg and Rev, Billy McCool officiating. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah Tennessee at 9:00am to go in procession to Mars Hill Cemetery in Englewood Tennessee for an 10:00am graveside service.
