Betty Lou Wells Grissom of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2012. Member of Sharon Baptist Church since 1954, where she was active in the music, teaching, library and missions programs. Graduate of Powell High School and National Business College. Preceded in death by husband Donald Eugene Grissom; parents Reverend Claude and Trula Eledge Wells; nephew Brian Wells and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Survived by sons and daughter-in-law Jeffrey Donald Grissom of Knoxville and Darryl Eugene and Melissa Grissom of Eldridge, Iowa; grandchildren Adam, Alan, Sarah, Jake and Brooke Grissom of Knoxville, and Zachariah, Amanda and Rebekah Grissom of Eldridge, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law Dora Merle and Bill Love; brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene and Beverly Wells, Ronald and Elizabeth Wells and David and Carolyn Wells, all of Knoxville; special aunt and uncle Katherine and Jim Rutherford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service 11:00 am Monday at Sharon Baptist Church with Dr. James E. Robertson, Rev. Dennis Blazier and Rev. Mark McCoig officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Wells, Chip Wells, Aaron Love, Adam Grissom, Alan Grissom, Jake Grissom and Zachariah Grissom. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Sharon Baptist Church, 7916 Pedigo Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. The family will receive friends 3:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
