Betty Jane “Nanny” Lamb, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. Betty was born on January 24, 1938, in Harlan County, KY. She was a faithful member of Bays Mtn. Baptist Church. Betty is survived by her children, Nancy Saylor, Kenneth “Gene” (Mindy) Large, Clifton (Kara) Lamb, Donna Gann, Gil Lamb, Sheila (Tony) Staley, and Anthony (great grandson) (Ariel) Ray who she raised, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; brother, Russell (Louise) Sharp, sister Faye Crandell, and sister-in-law Ernestine Sharp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Condy Britton and Marie Rice Sharp; brothers, Roy Glenn Sharp and Condy Britton Sharp Jr; sister, Martha S. Douglas, sister-in-law, Thelma Sharp; brother-in-law, Walden Crandell; granddaughter, Elizabeth Large; and grandsons, Michael Cockrum and Joseph Lamb.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service; Rev. Rusty Sharp and Rev. Jim Yeary officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at Baker's Forge Cemetery, LaFollette for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service.
