Betty Jean Vaught

Betty Jean Vaught, age 87 of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Herbert E. Vaught. They met in Knoxville and were married five days after he returned from military service in Korea. Herbert and Betty lived in Baltimore, MD, Durham, NC, and Asheville, NC before returning to Knoxville after his retirement from the military. She was also preceded in death by her children Edward E. Vaught and Connie M. Whitson. She leaves behind her son David Vaught and daughter-in-law Tracy Vaught; seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 12:00-1:00 pm with a funeral to follow at 1:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
