Bessie Lee Cook

Bessie Lee Coomer Cook, age 89 of Halls, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at home. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband Leonard Cook; parents Will and Bessie Coomer; sister Alberta Coomer Loy. Survived by son and daughter-in-law Gary and Shari Cook; daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Scott Mathews; grandchildren Matthew and Jennifer Cook, Amanda Mathews Fenyves and husband Ryan, and Mitchell Mathews; sisters Ruth Coomer Haynes, Madge Coomer Cain and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:00 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with Rev. Gary Vandergriff and Dr. Bruce Marston officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 11:30 am Friday and proceed to Ft. Sumter Cemetery for 12:00 Noon interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church Building Fund of Halls or Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
