Berniece Rowena Atkins

Berniece R. (Settle) Atkins, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. She was a member of Copper Ridge Baptist Church but attended New Beverly Baptist Church. She retired from Standard Knitting Mills after 43 years of service. Preceded in death by parents Evelyn and Dewey Settle; husband Joe Atkins; siblings Arvel, Roberta, Verlin, Bobby, Betty, Denver and Elwood Settle. Survived by brothers Donnie (Connie) Settle and Claude Settle; son Mark Atkins; daughter Lee Ann Hoaglund; grandchildren Brittany Garza (Adrian) and her little buddy Celeste Hoaglund who she loved with all her heart; great grandchildren Kalie and Julius Garza. Thank you, Mama, for always taking such good care of Celeste and being a godly example for all of us. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. Family and friends will meet 11AM Monday at the funeral home and proceed to Snodderly Chapel Cemetery for 12PM interment. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with funeral service to follow, Rev. Eddie Sawyer officiating.
