Benjamin Thomas Shockley, age 64, of Corryton, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Ben was a gentle, godly man who loved the Lord and his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a veteran of the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Averitt Express Trucking Co. for 26 years; and a member and deacon of Branville Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, George E. and Dorothy D. Shockley; brothers, DeLane Dalton, Claude Shockley and Sam Shockley. Survived by wife, Jackie; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Pat Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Euell Chauvin and Roma and Mike Welch; mother-in-law, Billie Cardwell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darryl and Joye Danna; nephew, Austin and many many special nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers, Phillip Shockley, Matt Shockley, Steve Dalton, Mike Welch, Darryl Danna and Austin Danna. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be made to Branville Baptist Church, 7716 Millertown Pike, Knoxville, TN, 37924. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Saturday, March 14, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7PM, special music by Bryan Yow; Rev. Gary Watson and Rev. Mark Kitts officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45PM Sunday, March 15, at Clapps Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery for 2PM interment service with military honors.
