Benjamin Adam Moore, age 48 of Knoxville, TN Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 6th 2023. He was a lifelong resident of Knoxville, TN and was married to his loving wife Shannon Moore for 24 years. Benji was a devoted husband, father, pop pop, and friend to many. His daily life was always involved in finding ways to help others. He displayed great pride in his work in all that he did, He served as a yard master at Norfolk Southern for many years before retiring. Benji took great pride in acknowledging Jesus Christ as his personal savior and had the opportunity to be baptized with his son. There was no greater Georgia Bulldog football fan in East Tennessee. Benji was known for his calm, caring, and loving demeanor to everyone he came in contact with. Benji enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football, and spending time with his friends. Benji was always a lover of animals and enjoyed taking care of his special cat, Smoky. He was always present for every need or major event that involved his family no matter what.
Preceded in death by his grandmother Sara Moore and grandfather Charles Moore; and his grandmother Mary Fletcher. He is survived by his loving wife Shannon Moore; two children, Dylan (Sara) Moore and Lauren Covington; his father Jimmy Moore and his Mother Charlotte Moore; His Brothers Andy (Tammy) Moore, Danny (Kristin) Moore; His Father in law Charlie Williams and mother in law Evelyn Williams; His Brother in law Les (Darla) Williams; his grandchildren Mason and Aaron Moore; nieces and nephews Caylin Moore, Addison Moore, Falyn Moore, Farrah Moore, Foster Moore, Finley Moore; His Cousins Dewayne Dye, Chris Dye, Stacey (Dennis) Greene.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 5:00-7:00PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel 2000 Powell Dr. Powell TN 37849 with a service to immediately following. Pastor Michael Cox at Redemption Life Church will be officiating. Family is asking for all to wear Georgia Bulldog apparel for Benji’s final send off.
