Barbara Lou Brown Cheek, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. She was raised in the Methodist Church and loved the Lord. She was a graduate of Knox High School. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sew, paint, knit, cross-stitch, repurpose furniture and instilled a “can do” attitude in her children. Barbara also loved her cats, working crosswords and reading. She loved to bowl and was in a league at Fountain Bowling Lanes for 17 years. She was preceded in death by parents Helen Russell Brown and Herman Allison Brown; brother Thomas Allison Brown; son Terrell Marshall Cheek; and her husband of 35 years, Carl Marshall Cheek. She is survived by her brother Russell Orville Brown; daughter Vicki Elizabeth Cheek; daughter Janis Cheek Crye and son-in-law Bob; granddaughters Jennifer Cheek Presutto, Laura Mauldin Cloud and husband David, and Kristen Crye Stevenson; great-grandchildren Elias Presutto, Adelyn Bailey, Zoe Stevenson, Lena Cloud and Ella Cloud; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, 4131 E. Emory Rd, Knoxville, TN 37938, funeral service to follow with Dr. Charles Earl officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am, Monday, at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment at 10:00 am.
