Barbara Jean Myers Whitaker Brown

Barbara Jean Myers Whitaker Brown, age 87, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, December 31st. She was a member of Reunion Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband Robert V. Whitaker; second husband Gene M. Brown; and son, Robert Earl (Bobby) Whitaker. She is survived by daughter, Tracy Jean Brown; daughter and son-in-law Gail W. and Dennis Chapman; grand children Scott (Karen) Chapman, Michael (Brandi) Chapman, Alyssa Chapman (Lucas) Adorati, Pamela Whitaker, and Debbie W. Johnson (Obie); Eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; stepsons Jim (Teresa) Brown and Jerry (Martha) Brown; and beloved fur baby Opie. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Young Williams Animal Shelter. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am, Monday, at Greenwood Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:00 am, with William F. “Buster” Watson and Rev. Claude Ferguson officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Chapman, Scott Chapman, Michael Chapman, Lucas Adorati, Tristan Russo and Kyle Smith. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
