Barbara Jean Kitts

Barbara Jean Carter Kitts, 88 years old, born October 30,1933 in Knoxville, TN, has gained her heavenly wings. Barbara lived a life in service to others and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for many years with Miller’s Department Store and later with the Knox County Clerk's Office. She loved quilting and traveling and stayed busy with her many friends. Barbara was a woman of faith and loved her church family at Buffet Heights. She is preceded in death by beloved father Marshall Carter, mother Helen Tallent Carter, her loving husband of 58 years, Rev. C. Ray Kitts, and her sweet grandson Dustin C. Kitts. Left to cherish her memories are her son’s Steven E. Kitts (Jenny), David M. Kitts (Debra), and daughter Kara Pinkerton (Jay). Grandchildren Drew Kitts (Azure), Whitney Masters (Eli), Patrick Pinkerton (Danielle), Kayla Pinkerton and April Stouffer (Jason). Great grandchildren Mila Kitts, Nellie, Ruby Lynn, Franklin and Lottie Masters, Tristan and Gabby Stouffer. A special thank you to the staff at Deane Hill Place, especially Tonya, India and April for their loving care and attention to our beloved mother. Due to Covid concerns family and friends will meet 12:45pm Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1:00pm graveside service, Rev. Dave Thomas officiating.
