Barbara Jean Atkins

Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Corum Atkins, age 86 surrounded by family and friends, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 12, 2022. Bobbie loved her job in quality control at Levi Strauss Powell where she was employed for more than 40 years. She was a faithful lifetime member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Also, she enjoyed her time as a member of the Areme #466 Order of the Eastern Star as well as a proud member of the Daughters of the Nile. Bobbie loved to go and do. You might just see her anywhere from the Tennessee Valley Fair, to Dollywood, to Atomic Speedway watching her brother Little Bill. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews whom she always treated like her own. Preceded in death by her parents, father Radius Corum; mother Canzada Corum; her loving husband of over 45 years, Ted Atkins; sister (infant) Dossie Corum; brother Billy Corum. Survived by niece Renee’ Corum Engle (David); nephew Chris Corum (Leslie); sister-in-law Wanza Corum; great nieces Jenna Engle Johnson (Travis), Callie Corum Hodge (Will); great nephew Zack Corum. Also survived by her dear friend, James Israel along with many special family and friends that made her life a joy. Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 5:00pm until time of funeral service at 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. Robert Johnson and Rev. Eddie Muncey officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 1:45pm at Wyrick Cemetery for an 2:00pm graveside service.
