Barbara Elizabeth (Susie) Wyrick, affectionately known as Sissy by so many, entered into eternal life on September 4, 2022 after a short illness. She was 80 years old. Susie was born in Knoxville, TN where she graduated from Rule High School in 1961. She began a long career directly after high school with the Board of Education as a library cataloger for Knox County Schools until she retired in 2011. Susie gave her heart to the lord in the late 1970’s at University Ave Baptist Church where she became a member and taught Sunday School for many years until the church closed. In more recent years, Susie attended Beaumont Baptist Church where she was a member. Susie lived her life with love and compassion, and family was everything to her. She had a giving heart and a caring hand offering support and words of wisdom to so many like only she could. She was preceded in death by her father, George Wesley Wyrick; mother, Elizabeth Ada Wyrick; sister, Cookie Cheatham; and brothers, Jimmy Lee Wyrick, George Wyrick, Jr., Jackie Wyrick, and Bobby Bailey. Susie will be greatly missed by her brother, Billy Wyrick; sisters, Shirley McGinnis, Brenda (Jim) Martin. Susie never married or had children of her own, but often said God had other plans and agave her many children to help care for including nieces and nephews, Belinda (Randy) Foster (Nathan and Noah), Billy Sauls (Brent, Brandon, and Jonah), Paul Sauls, Leeann (James) Chappel (James Lee, Michael, and Jennifer), Mary (Brandon) Harris, Jimmy Wyrick (Kayla, Jacob, and Riyah), Amanda Wyrick, Billy Wyrick II, Brian Wyrick, and the niece who became a daughter over the years who she lived with and who took care of her, Susan (Justin) Lawson and her “grandkids,” Maddie and Mason who she called “her love and joy”, and a host of loved ones and friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 6:00pm at Beaumont Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Braden and Rev. Lee Lawson officiating.
