Arsel Lee Patterson

Arsel L. “Pat” Patterson, age 80, of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord April 3, 2013. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was retired US Navy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by parents Mable and Lloyd Patterson, brother Lowell and sisters Gena and Faye. Survivors include loving wife of 61 years Dot Patterson, daughters and sons-in-law Debbie and Ray Adams and Teresa and Gary Lovett, son and daughter-in-law Dale and Lynn Patterson, Grandchildren Melissa, Brian, Katie, Whitney, Mercedez and, Jordan, great-grandchildren Jayda, Ethan, and Reece, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. John Blake and his staff, caregiver Crystal Gaut, and the nurses in the Nephrology Unit at Fort Sanders Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 3001 Like Brook Rd., Suite 101, Knoxville, TN 37909. Funeral service will be 4 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with Rev. Mark Large officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Tuesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City and proceed to Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Governor John Sevier for interment at 11:30 AM. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
