It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Emerson Gloyd, age 59, of Powell, TN, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Tony was born in Blanchester, Ohio, to Bert and Alda "Jim" Gloyd on February 28, 1965. From an early age, he displayed a remarkable athletic ability, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. His passion for football led him to Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY where he played for two years.
A man of humor and heart, Tony was known for his infectious laughter and quick wit. He had a unique ability to make those around him feel comfortable and loved. Whether cracking jokes or sharing a smile, Tony’s presence was always one of warmth and joy. He was especially fond of his family, cherished his time fishing, and, of course, was a devoted fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Brittany Watts (Cody), granddaughters Kennedy and Addison, his son Brandon Gloyd (Abby) grandson Griffin, his beloved wife Alicia Gloyd, stepdaughters Tara Hankins Cline (granddaughter Sydney Arnold) and Morgan Hankins, his father Bert Gloyd, sisters Tammy Johnson (Brad), and Tina Lopez (Oladipo Awowale), as well as nieces Jessica Marsh, Aubrey Sherman, Adrianna Rolf, Lauren Johnson, Sierra Lopez, and Taylor Lopez.
