Anthony “Tony” Novarro III, age 78 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at his home Saturday July 10th, 2021 surrounded by his family after courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Parish. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, there wasn’t a stranger or “stray” he didn’t welcome into his home.
Born in Utica, New York in 1943, Tony lived most of his early life in North Haven, CT. He graduated from the University of New Haven in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in business and moved to Tennessee in 1974, calling Knoxville his home the last 47 years. He was President of NOVA Logistics for 27 years, a company he started and continued to run until his health no longer enabled him too, although it wasn’t for lack of trying, just ask his son. Tony lived life to the fullest as an avid golfer at Beaverbrook Country Club for over forty years and when his golf scores started to resemble the temperature highs of July, he developed a real passion for riding Harley’s throughout the Foothills of the Smokey’s and the Blue Ridge Parkway. If he wasn’t riding or playing golf, he could be found fishing on the Clinch River. His greatest treasure was his family, especially his grandchildren which he adored with all his heart. He also loved his fur babies which anyone who knew Tony would tell you he spoiled them to the fullest more often than his own children.
Preceded in death by his parents Anthony “Red” & Mary Novarro, brother Frank, Tony leaves behind wife of 54 years Pat “Fluff” Novarro, daughters, Kimberly Dison, Kristen (Eric) Spector, and son Anthony (Kelly) Novarro as well as grandchildren Drew Dison, Will Dison, Emory Spector & Olivia Novarro. Also survived by his siblings Teddy, Art, Philomena, Nancy and Nate. Honorary pallbearers, Bob Corea, Joe Mikos, Frank Hubbell, Lynn Golden, Jerry Key, and Mark Bright. A special thanks to Tia Conner, Bobbie Corea and Terry Key for their friendship and care of Tony during this trying time.
