Anna Pearl Reese Marshall age 87 of Knoxville, was released from her broken body on Monday, August 16, 2021 and has been reunited with her late husband, Bobby (Chief Robert A. Marshall). She was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Margaret Reese and the last of five children to join them in eternity. Anna passed peacefully after many years of declining health. She is survived by her two children, John (and wife Brenda) Marshall and Susan (husband Tim) Royster; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, adopted son Rick Harmon. Anna was a graduate of Rule High School where she was a majorette. She had many fond memories of growing up off of Emerald Avenue and being referenced as “Puddy Girl” in a Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs song. She met Bob shortly after his return from the Korean War. They both helped the Marshall family in the development and operating of Hickory Star Resort and Dock. After many years of hard work running the restaurant and pool, she joined her late brother in law Bill in growing Lake Flite Marine. She was the secretary/bookkeeper there throughout its operation. The family credits her for keeping it running smooth. She was a supportive wife a partner as Bob went up the ranks in the Knoxville Police Department ending his career as Chief of Police. Many of their friends and family have long passed, but the stories will live on. Anna performed many hidden acts of kindness and support with no knowledge of recognition. That was how she wanted it. She was a member of The Green Thumb Garden Club and The Fontanalis Club. She had a small group of lady friends that formed a “Birthday Club” and they celebrated each other for 40+ years. She joins them once again to celebrate their birthdays in Heaven! Anna and Bob last attended Salem Baptist Church in Halls. John and Susan would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff of The Courtyards in Inskip where Anna resided the past 7 years. They provided her with loving and attentive care. A special thank you to Avalon Hospice. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to them for seeing us thru this journey. Thank you, thank you, Patty, the most incredible, caring nurse; our liaison Jessica, and Chaplain Mark who continually prayed over her. Your kindness was so appreciated and will never be forgotten. Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, August 20, 2021, at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
