Ann E. Meyer, age 91 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully on December 10th at Sacred Ground Hospice House in Knoxville Tennessee.
Ann was born on June 16, 1932, to Sallie (B) and Glinn Horace (Daddy) Bolin.
She attended South High School and the University of Tennessee where she met her husband Herbert H. Meyer. She was married in 1953 until his passing in 2017. Together with Herbert, Ann raised their two children, Debbie and Mark.
Ann spent her retirement years in Maryville, TN where she was involved with Fairview United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and quilter, having one of her quilts displayed in a museum in Townsend, TN. She loved music and dance. She was a square dancer, piano and organ player, and a longtime member of both the vocal and bell choirs at Fairview. She and Herbert also spent many of their years traveling, visiting Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada just to name a few places. She loved working and providing for others and was involved with Blount County Meals on Wheels, the Blount County food bank, Blount County Habitat for Humanity, and Imagination Library.
Ann will be missed and remembered for her warm and caring smile and deeply positive outlook on life. People who knew Ann would describe her as one of the kindest people they knew.
Ann was preceded in death by her dear husband Herbert, and her loving daughter, Debbie. She is survived by her son Mark and his wife Trish of Maineville, Ohio, Debbie`s husband, David Gayk of Knoxville TN, and her brother, Robert Bolin and his wife, Nancy in Arkansas.
She loved and cherished her grandchildren Shannon Gayk, Lucas Gayk and his wife Deb, Susan Harvey and her husband Joe, and Danielle Meyer. She was blessed with four great grandchildren: Lydia and Emma Gayk, and Anne and Thomas Harvey.
Family and friends will join together for remembrance of Ann's life, and a graveside burial at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville on Friday, December 15th.
