Alvin Jay Davis

Alvin Jay Davis age 58 departed this life on August 17, 2016. He is now at peace and resides with his Heavenly Father and his Savior. He had several jobs starting with errands for elderly ladies in the neighborhood as a boy. He was proud of the money he had made and the ladies he worked for loved him. He has been sick most of his life and does not have to suffer anymore. Alvin is preceded in death by parents Evan Davis, Jr. and Louise Dixon, sister Joyce Davis Denny, Brother Don Davis. Survivors include daughter, April Davis, granddaughter Rebecca Howerton, sisters Carol Davis Thompson and husband Eddie, and Velda Davis Hicks and husband David, nieces and nephews Stephanie, Keri, Johnathan, Jessi, Alex, Heather, Brandy, great nieces and great nephews Savannah, Zeke, Desi, Kaydee, Kameron, Kerigan, Tyler, Matt, Emily, and Ana`is. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Tuesday at Caylor’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Townsend for a graveside service at 11 am. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4 pm at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Family and friends may call at their convenience Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City.
