Alma Rutherford

Alma Grubb Rutherford, age 91 of Halls, passed away August 1, 2022. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church of Halls and retired from Knox County School System. Preceded in death by parents, Floyd and Martha Grubb and sister, Hazel Suffridge. Survived by loving husband of 71 years, Hillard; daughter, Sheila (Curt) Holbert of Halls; granddaughters, Melanie (Wes) Dorminey, Loganville, GA; Heather (Jaron) Densky, Knoxville; great-granddaughter, Eliza May Densky. The family would like to thank the staff at American House of Halls for the caring and compassionate service provided during the past year. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 4, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel; funeral service will follow at 6:00, with Rev. Gary Vandergriff officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, August 5, at 11:00 AM, Union Baptist Church of Halls Cemetery for a graveside service. Pallbearers: Jaron Densky, Wes Dorminey, Mike Dykes, Scott Mathews, Bobby Rose and Harvey Wright.
