Alma "June" Phipps

August 13, 1933 — January 11, 2017

June Phipps, of Kingston formerly of Knoxville, went home peacefully on Jan. 11, 2017. She was born in Corryton on August 13, 1933 to the late Orange and Mary Lou Smith Clapp. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kingston. She retired after many years as a Registered Nurse from Fort Sanders Medical Center, where she also taught at Fort Sanders School of Nursing. She loved working out the resolutions to puzzles and writing/reading poetry. June was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Preceded in death by parents ; husband, Bill; sisters, Ruby King and Fairy Garner. Survived by son, David and wife Teresa Phipps; two grandsons, Eric Phipps and Brian Phipps; sister, Patty Falls. The family will receive friends 10-11AM on Saturday Jan. 14 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City. Graveside service to follow receiving friends at Highland Memorial Cemetery 12PM Saturday with grandson Brian Phipps officiating. www.mynattfh.com
