Allie Mae Hutcheson, 93, passed away on Monday July 11, 2022.
Allie grew up with the most modest of means but worked hard her entire life. She retired from the Knox County School system where she worked for many years cooking wonderful food at Brickey and Adrian Burnett Elementary Schools. Her cooking and hospitality, both at work and at home, were unparalleled.
Allie was also a proud founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, and she lived her Christian faith every day through her kindness, humility, and her self-sacrificial nature. She was never boastful, and she always sought to ensure that the needs of others were taken care of long before hers were even considered.
She particularly worried about, and regularly visited, those in need, whether they were mourning a loved one, healing in the hospital, or living out their days in assisted living. Allie always reminded her children and grandchildren to never ‘forget about the little people’ as she knew that everyone was of equal importance and deserved to be treated fairly and with respect. Her daily example of how to live a caring, giving, and fulfilling life will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 71 years, Earl Hutcheson, her son-in-law Hugh Wolfe, her parents Walter and Agnes Farrington, and her brothers, Howard (Bernice), Bobby, and R.L. Farrington and Vondas Snodderly.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Denise Hutcheson Wolfe, grandson Joshua Andrew Wolfe (Jamie), granddaughter Merry Allie Wolfe Davis (Seth), and great-grandchildren, Kate, Ella, and Eli Wolfe and Maggie Davis.
Allie’s family would like to specially thank the wonderful staff at American House Halls who took such good care of Allie and Earl these past few years. They treated them both like their own and helped fill their final years with happiness and companionship.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 5 - 7pm at Mynatt Funeral Home - Halls Chapel. The funeral will begin at 7pm with Pastor Gary Vandergriff officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11am for the internment.
