Allene Bandy Shepherd

Allene Bandy Shepherd, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Tennova Residential Hospice Care Facility in Halls. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Powell for almost 40 years, having received Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a teenager. She was preceded in death by son, James A. Shepherd; parents, Joe A. and Rita (Johnson) Bandy; brother, Jerry C. Bandy. She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Coy L. Shepherd. She is also survived by brothers, Bobby J. Bandy and Roger L. (Jennifer) Bandy; sisters, Ivory Gay (Sterling) Keeton and Barbara Sue (Michael) Bryant; daughter-in-law, Marion E. (Scharman) Shepherd; grandchildren, Steven J. (Erica) and Jason A. Shepherd; great grandchildren, Aiden J. and Madelyn G. Shepherd. Family will receive friends 5-7PM Monday, May 11, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in the Curtis Hudson Chapel, 1700 W. Beaver Creek Dr., Powell, TN 37849; with funeral service to follow, Dr. Clarence Sexton and Rev. Ray Shepherd officiating. Interment will be 11:30AM Tuesday at Jellico Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, located 7-8 miles west of Williamsburg, KY on KY Highway 92. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Crown College Scholarship Fund, 1700 W. Beaver Creek Dr., Powell, TN 37849 in Allene’s memory.
