Alfred Matthew Vann, age 87 of Knoxville passed away on October 15, 2020 at Beverly Park Place. Mr. Vann had worked for Black Oak AMACO, and had retired from Food City in Fountain City. He worked up until the age of 85. Mr. Vann proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Central View Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Vann enjoyed his wood carving class at O'Conner Senior Center. Preceded in death by his parents Mike and Pearl Vann, son Gordon Alan Vann and four siblings. Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Lois Vann; sisters-in-laws: Beulah Decost and Mary (David) Small; special niece Kristin Small and special nephew Jeffery Small, along with several other special nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service for Mr. Vann on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Woodhaven Cemetery. There will be a call of convenience at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 9 am until 5 pm for family and friends to pay their respects.
