Alfred Lynn Carter

August 27, 1927 — December 15, 2015

Alfred Lynn Carter, age 88 passed away December 15, 2015 and is now in the loving arms of our Savior Jesus Christ. He is a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church in Corryton, TN and served as a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Preceded in death by his parents Fred and Katie Karnes Carter; son David; three brothers Dale, Frederick Jr., and Ralph Carter. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Mattie Lindamood Carter; son Gary Mark Carter; daughter Barbara Dees; son-in-law Fred Dees, Corryton, TN; brother Evert Carter, Montrose, MI; grandson Michael Dees and wife Kelli; great-grandchildren Micah and Caroline Dees, Corryton, TN; several nieces and nephews. The family truly appreciates the nurses at Tennova Residential Hospice. Service will be 7pm Saturday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Johnny Price and Rev. Albert Womack officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:30pm Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel and proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for 2pm interment, pallbearers will be Michael Dees, Evert Carter, Jack Treece, J.B. Stansberry, Ray Alston and Gerald Monroe. Family will receive friends 5-7pm Saturday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
